Island yarns are available in a variety of fibers and blends. I am currently enamored with wool and silk blends. The silk gives a luster to the yarn which enhances the colors. Some of the fibers I work with are bought already blended and I spin them. Other fibers I dye and blend myself. I always try to keep a stock of plain white both blended with silk and pure wool. I also have a few shades of natural wool colors. I choose to spin some commercial blends because they are usually more reproducible than custom blends if you should need more yarn to finish a project.
